Test Result: Test Not Performed

A “Test Not Performed" result means that a test sample was not able to be tested and therefore did not yield a result at the lab. This can happen for a number of reasons:

  • Unrecoverable rejection by the lab for missing or incomplete registration information, and/or mismatched name and date of birth.
  • Test subject account creation lacked complete demographic detail.
  • The sample did not arrive at the lab.
  • The sample arrived at the lab past its expiration date.
  • The quantity of the sample is not enough to analyze.
    • The specimen tube could have leaked in transit (which can also smear the label so that the identification is not legible, or there is not enough of the sample left to analyze).

We recommend any individual with the “Test Not Performed” result be retested as soon as possible in order to receive a test result.
